"Commissioning a painting from John was a wonderful experience! It was great to work with him and have his input and insight as we planned the painting. He captured my daughter so well: the expression in her eyes, the sparkle of joy in being a bride -- it's just exactly how she looked!
The look on their faces when they opened the box was unbelievable! They couldn't take their eyes off of the painting for a solid fifteen minutes! She feels it is an heirloom that her grandchildren will treasure someday. I wouldn't change a thing about the process or the product; we're all just thrilled." - Cara Schomp

"Dear John, thank you so much for creating such a beautiful painting of Jake and me. I was flabbergasted by the beauty of it. You did such an amazing job I had to say thanks! Thank you for making me the girl with the pearl earring.
With love and gratitude, Emily & Jake" |
"John gets all A's from me on this! I'm so glad I found him to do this watercolor painting. How I found him is a story in itself. I really don't buy just anything when it comes to family gifts and I'm not a big fan of some dime-a-dozen thing. I want something really thoughtful, beautiful; dare I say stunning. Something that stands the test of time. I want the person to open the gift and fall over in shock... and I got it. This effort was based on a photo from my daughter's wedding that I used for her Christmas gift. John really takes time to capture the warmth and emotion embedded in his subjects with precision. It shows, and my daughter and her husband loved it! I'd recommend John to anyone without reservation. He's a prodigious level of talent who can apparently work with any medium. Just look at his work. So much depth. My biggest decision is deciding on whether to go with oil, water color, pencil, or charcoal. He and Deirdre are a class act. You'll have no regrets."

"Commissioning this portrait from John for my sister's wedding could not have gone better. My communication with John and Deirdre throughout the process was so pleasant and I felt confident knowing with their partnership I would receive exactly what I envisioned. I was incredibly impressed with how John was able to provide his expert, artistic opinion while also listening to and incorporating my style. The framing process I also entrusted to John was not only logistically easy, but with extremely high quality materials, beautiful matting and a professional finish, the frame will forever be the perfect compliment to this beautiful artwork. And of course, the art is absolutely, absolutely stunning! I have nothing but amazing things to say about my entire experience - it was just perfect!"

What is the process of commissioning a wedding portrait?
Please reach out via the Contact Form or by emailing us at [email protected]
We will ask you to provide a small selection of photos from the wedding for John to consider. Or if you have a particular one chosen already, John will happily take a look!
We'll let you know if it's a fit and John will select the photo to work from. He may ask you to review a few cropping options to determine the best possible composition and color for your final painting.
Once the composition is determined, you can expect to receive the painting within 4-8 weeks.
For an additional fee (and a few additional weeks), John can provide you with a small selection of recommended frames for your painting. You choose the frame and John will deliver you the painting papered, wired, and ready to hang!
